Will is characterized so well, here, and I like the reason he can't go among the living - it would really drive one mad, knowing when everybody's clock is going to run out, wouldn't it?

(Now is Death a Gaiman creation here, or is this Pratchett's Death's granddaughter? I haven't read all of Gaiman yet, and not Sandman at any rate.)
