A clarification:
Oct. 29th, 2008 01:56 pmI got de-friended by somebody after yesterday's post, so let me make a few things perfectly clear.
1) I don't think John McCain is racist.
2) I think that only a very small minority of McCain supporters are racists.
3) I don't think that you're a racist if you support John McCain.
4) I don't think that you're a racist if you don't support Barack Obama.
5) I don't think that you're a racist if you criticize Barack Obama.
6) I don't think that you're racist if you don't vote for Barack Obama.
7) I think that the vast majority of McCain supporters are perfectly nice people, with whom I have some political disagreements.
HOWEVER, having said that, if you:
1) Think that everything Barack Obama has ever said or written is worthless, both intrinsically and when judging his fitness to be President,
AND
2) Don't believe that the Three-Fifths Compromise makes the Constitution a flawed document,
AND
3) Think that the 14th Amendment redressed every problem black people have had in this country,
AND
4) Think that "America isn't ready for a black president,"
Then yes, I'm going to start to wonder if you might be racist.
Am I being unreasonable?
