concertigrossiI happened to catch a few minutes of PotC: AWE today, and I just realized something:
I know how to ship Pintel and Ragetti.
There's that scene in Sao Feng's court, where the crew is under the floor looking up. Ragetti gets a charge out of looking up Elizabeth's skirts, and waves over Pintel to look-see. Pintel, of course, gets there too late, and he's looking up at the great big scary guy.
If you wanted to ship them, the hook is right there: Pintel is thrown for a loop that his best buddy apparently likes guys, feigns disgust but confronts Ragetti later, whereupon it goes the way that these things do.
I will now go out and purchase some high-grade brain bleach to rid myself of this mental image.
